Second inquiry exonerates police of beatings allegations
An inquiry headed by Judge Albert Manche has confirmed the findings of a Magisterial inquiry that the police were not responsible for the death of Nicholas Azzopardi, 38, following a three-storey fall behind police headquarters on April 9.
Mr Azzopardi suffered grievous injuries which caused his death on April 22. Shortly before his death he claimed he was beaten by the police during interrogation and dumped over a high wall.
A magisterial inquiry last week established that Mr Azzopardi himself had jumped over the wall, and a policeman had actually tried to stop him.
The inquiry by Judge Manche was ordered by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

So, ... let me get this right .... did the man lie on his death-bed, after all??????
Or was the poor man hallucinating? Because nobody, but nobody lies on his death-bed!!!!!

What else could one expect if the only witnesses were the policemen themselves? As the ancient sage said .... 'Who guards the guardians?'

It appears that the Ministry of Home Affairs should explain why a second inquiry was required.
If the Ministry can give the public an explanation, it should then also explain why the results from the first inquiry were not withheld until the second inquiry had been completed.
As it stands, It does not reflect positively on the part of the Ministry so far as proper procedure is concerned.

Yes that's right... this is the second inquiry to expose the lies that were planted in other sections of the media to put the police corps in bad light.
The truth will always prevail and the conspiracy theorists have been silenced.
Congratulations to the Minister concerned for moving swiftly and diligently in this matter.
