Trackless train makes people smile

My family and I, including a four-and-half-year-old child, took a ride on the trackless train that runs through Mdina, Rabat and Mtarfa. I have to say we all had a lovely time, young and old!

It was the 7.30 p.m. run on Saturday, the sun was setting and the views of Mdina and the outskirts of Rabat and Mdina were marvellous. The train is a joy to ride and the driver and attendant were courteous and cheerful.

It was driven in a careful and professional manner.

The train was full and we set off: whistles blowing and train tooting! My lasting memory was of the number of smiles we saw, from those of us on the train, to the passing karrozzin driver, to the people who came out to wave from their doorways or the bride being driven past in her open-top Rolls Royce. My daughter loved waving at everyone!

We stayed in Rabat for dinner and this attraction should help boost the local excellent restaurants and bars.

I live here and feel that this new attraction will be a credit to Malta and will prove extremely popular with tourists and Maltese alike. My daughter is already asking when we will go on it again!
