Recruitment of nurses starts

The government said this evening that it had started a process to recruit more nurses in state hospitals.

It also said that the process to fill empty posts of nursing officers and deputy nursing officers was in an advanced stage.

The government expressed its appreciation for the work being carried out by nurses and said it had no difficulties with regard to cases mentioned by the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses in a statement yesterday.

The MUMN had called for the recruitment of nurses, including casual nurses. and the filling of various positions.
