MLP meets hunters' federation
The Labour Party has had a meeting with the hunters’ federation, at the federation’s request.
The party said the federation’s officials expressed their position on a number of issues.
The Labour delegation, led by party leader Joseph Muscat, said that the party position is that EU regulations have to be observed and local regulations have to reflect those of the EU.
The federation agreed with this position, the MLP said.

Does anyone of you know anything about what is being talked about between teh FKNK and the authoritiues?
The current problem is that Malta has decided to stop hunting during a particular time of the day when ALL hunters in ALL of Europe do not have this restriction.
The fact that there are ilegal hunters is a known fact just like there are rapists, thieves and murderers around us.
Why do all hunters have to suffer? Surely you guys are not going to promote the abolition of driving because there are a few criminals who do not respect the law!
P.S. Mr Barrett, call the Police and let them deal with it, its their job not the Federation's! Just like in the UK.

@ Nyal Xuereb - Perhaps you would care to clarify what you want to mean? Surely not that we should take the FKNK seriously when it said that?!

Good old Joseph Muscat and his pro- EU party. The hunters' blackmailing era is now over once and for all.

May I be allowed to pass one small comment? Reading the comment by Mr. Barrett, I would also ask "Perhaps the ADT could be persuaded to explain to numerous rouge road practices, considering it is the ADT which re-issues the license to the same culprits". Come on, the FKNK had already confirmed that anyone found guilty of breaking the law will have its membership, hence the license, withdrawn and not allowed to renew. More than that?

Perhaps the Hunters Federation could be persuaded to explain to some of the rouge hunters that the hunting season has not yet actually started and that even when it does, hunting in protected areas, especially at night (as they have been doing in the area of Kennedy Grove over the last week or so) does not do their cause a lot of good.

So Mr.Lino Farrugia et al, you can't use the vote as a weapon now, even the MLP, as we say in Maltese, qatghulkom l-ghatx bil- perzut ( excuse for all the foreign readers).

If all agree, what was the purpose of this meeting?
Why does anyone have to say that he will observe the regulations? Shouldn't this be the normal case?
One could come with the interpretation that in the past laws were broken by the hunters (and the MLP agreed to it eventually), but that now all will be responsibly acting citizens who obey the laws.
