Cyclists taking part in the HSBC LifeCycle Challenge encountered problems on their second day when Spanish police asked them to reconsider their attempt to reach the Sierra Nevada because of the heavy traffic on the roads.

Thanks to the intervention of Chiara Felice from the Malta team, the police allowed the challenge to continue. The teams, however, had to be split up and the cyclists rode individually. The update from LifeCycle spoke of extremely cold temperatures in the Pyrenees which caused one of the cyclists to pull out of the challenge suffering from a severe migraine.

The team is now travelling through villages in southern Spain, heading towards the Straits of Gibraltar and Morocco.
