Six Housing Authority employees have returned from a one-week training programme in four organisations in the UK. The host organisations include Manchester Care and Repair Agency, Rochdale Home Improvement Agency, Hanover Housing Association Branch in Suffolk and Golden Gates Housing Ltd in Warrington.
The training was made possible thanks to the co-financing granted to the Housing Authority under the Lifelong Learning Programme through the Leonardo da Vinci programme.
Employees received first-hand experience on care and repair and housing management services with the aim to broaden their knowledge, skills and competencies in these areas and to improve the delivery and administration of these services.
The training addressed a mix of skills that are a requisite for care and repair and housing management services, including administration skills, practical sessions to meet beneficiaries and analyse their needs, technical skills and strategies and procedures how to implement different housing services in a changing environment.
The placement was an excellent opportunity for Housing Authority employees to learn more on care and repair and housing management and participate in a transnational experience, which is an added value for them personally and for the authority.
Due to the lack of local practices in these fields, it was an opportunity for the employees to learn an area that is not catered for in the local academic or vocational education spheres.
