Lyceum Grand Reunion 2008
The Association of Lyceum Past Students (ALPS) will be holding its traditional Lyceum Grand Reunion on October 4 at Dun Ġużepp Zammit (Brighella) Lyceum in Ħamrun, now part of Dun Ġorġ Preca College. Headmaster Tony Caruana Smith is, as usual, cooperating fully towards the event's success.
The reunion is open to past students of any age, irrespective of ALPS membership, but the guests of honour will be those students who entered or left The Lyceum, 50 years ago.
Past students are welcome to bring along their spouses or partners, who will themselves probably meet up with their own former schoolmates.
ALPS membership commission chairman Anthony Aquilina has been busy making enquiries and scrutinising every bit of information he can get hold of, but old addresses are of little help because most of the students would have married and taken up residence elsewhere.
The association is, therefore, appealing for past students to share (in confidence) their own knowledge of addresses of former schoolmates they may still be in contact with, even if the latter have settled overseas. Attendance application forms have already been sent out to ALPS members and non-members who are known to have attended past reunions.
These application forms are important for planning purposes. Formal invitations will be sent out to those who apply to attend.
More information can be obtained from Mr Aquilina on 7937 3706 and ALPS secretary general Alex Borg on 21 386812, 9988 8579 or through info@alpsmalta.com. Filled-in application forms may be sent to Mr Borg at Alson, Naxxar Road, San Ġwann SGN 9032.
