Please bring back God TV

It is with great dismay that I learned that the God TV transmissions on Smash TV have been stopped.

These programmes have helped me and my family to stay tuned to the word of God, to draw closer to Him and be filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

It is not the first time we spent entire nights watching programmes that have touched us immensely.

No matter what people may think in this country, there is more than one traditional way to God and God TV is showing this throughout many countries to millions of households.

Smash TV was wise enough to air this channel throughout the night till 9 a.m. every day. Many a Christian earnestly awaited these programmes and appreciated this incentive. I have not swapped to other service providers for cable because they do not air Smash TV.

Melita Cable ought to consider airing God TV as there are people who do watch it and appreciate the programmes. Just as the Arab population has a right to Arab TV, so is the Christian population entitled to God TV, even if some may not be in a position to appreciate it. Those of us who do, want to be able to view it, especially since it is free to air. Where is the freedom of speech and of expression? Where is the inclusive society we brag about? Just because Christians may be a minority in Malta, this does not preclude them from their right to freedom of religion and being able to access educational programmes of their liking.

It is a shame that secular music video clips and teleshopping are preferred to programmes that are spreading the good news of God's love for his people and Jesus' salvation to mankind. Different is not necessarily wrong.
