Updated: Two injured in Tal-Barrani crash

Busy Tal-Barrani Road was closed for some time this afternoon following a traffic accident which saw two men hospitalised.

The incident happened when a Peugeot 205 car crashed into a tree near Sta Lucija as it was being driven from the direction of Zejtun. The car was extensively damaged, with oil spilling onto the tarmac.

The driver, a 28-year-old from Floriana, suffered serious injuries which are not life threatening, while the passenger, a 22-year-old from Gzira, was slightly injured, the police said.
