The Qormi Wine Festival is back in its fourth consecutive edition, with a wide selection of red, white and rosé wines from several grape varieties, provided by Marsovin.

This year's edition will be held on September 5 and 6 from 8 p.m. until midnight.

Wine stalls will be set up in Main Street with St George's parish church as a backdrop.

Food stalls featuring local traditional food and sweets, and Italian, Greek and Spanish dishes will be set up. Food will sell at €6 per dish.

Qormi is reviving this centuries' old tradition while creating an added attraction for locals and foreigners at this time of year.

The festival is fast establishing itself in the annual calendar of events, attracting around 4,000 patrons every edition.

The festival brings together over 90 artistes including bands, soloists and folk groups performing on three stages. These include the Big Band Brothers, Astra Folk Group, Greenfields, Enzo Gusman, Tony Pace and traditional folk singers.

Several exhibitions and competitions will be held during the two days, including wine and floral competitions. Parallel events kick off a week prior to the festival dates, starting off with a wine-themed exhibition. Entrance to the festival is free. Those wishing to try out the wines can buy a souvenir wine glass for €8, which will be theirs to keep.

Wine will be served till 11.30 p.m. Persons under 16 years will not be served any wine.

There will be ample parking space. Signs will direct traffic arriving from Żebbuġ, Sta Venera, Ħamrun and Birkirkara.

The festival is organised by Kumitat Festi Esterni San Ġorġ Martri, in collaboration with the local council, the Rural Affairs Ministry, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth and Sport, and Marsovin.
