Fiat is launching a new 4x4 version of its popular Panda city car. The Panda Cross has been designed with 4x4 capabilities and new rugged looks to match.

It is powered by Fiats 1.3 16v MultiJet turbodiesel engine, producing 70bhp, coupled with the permanent four-wheel drive system of the Panda 4x4. It gets new round light units at the front and rear, chunky side protection strips, roof-bars, 15-inch alloy wheels and new bumpers.

Its standard equipment list also includes ESP, air conditioning, radio and MP3-compatible CD player with steering wheel audio controls.

As with the city car the Panda Cross also promises good economy of 54.3mpg combined and CO2 emissions of 136g/km.
