Vandalism on councillor's car

The Local Councils Association has condemned vandalism on the car of Victor Refalo a Labour councillor at Zebbug, Gozo. The incident happened on Monday-Tuesday night.

Mr Refalo said that he has been the target of vandalism for the past month. The latest act was the attack on his Opel which had its mirrors broken and which had foul words written with red paint all over it. He estimated the damage to amount to around €950. The car had been parked in front of his residence in Marsalforn.

The association expressed solidarity with Mr Refalo and reiterated its appreciation of the work done by mayors and councillors for the benefit of residents.

It urged the police to take all necessary measures to identify the culprits.
