Sheffield United sponsorship costs £350,000, says MTA
The one-year sponsorship by the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) of the English first division football club Sheffield United will cost £350,000 (€446,215), the MTA said yesterday.
"The value of the media and advertising exposure for Malta in the UK may well run into millions, rendering this agreement, from Malta's point of view, a great deal," MTA communications and pr director Kevin Drake said.
Malta Labour Party tourism spokesman Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca had yesterday urged the MTA to disclose the sponsorship amount in the interest of transparency and responsibility.

How much T.V. coverage do M.T.A. expect ?. Or are they just relying on Sheff. Utd's. fans, to visit Malta ?. To cover the outlay.

I'd have thought that a football team that has been sponsered by another countries tourism board would at the very least have the airport that serves that city (Sheffield - Robin Hood airport) have direct flights to and from Malta! but no...........?????
