BONAVIA. On August 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALEXANDRA (Ina), née Borg Cardona, of Sliema, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband John, her children Henry, Emily and her husband Joseph Galea, Tony and his wife Mary, Theresa and her husband Emmanuel Buttigieg, Rosalie and her husband Anton Cassar and John, her grandchildren Karen and her husband Sean Sullivan, Katya and her husband Kevin Sammut, Christina, Timothy, Neville, Julian, Claude, Mark and Joseph, and all her great-grandchildren, her sister Antoinette, widow of Wilfrid Vassallo, in-laws and numerous relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St Gregory parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.15 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant her eternal rest.

CARUANA CURRAN. On August 9, LIANA, at Mater Dei Hospital, aged 56, peacefully went to meet the risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church after an illness borne so very courageously. Beloved daughter of Mara née Turi and of the late Joe Caruana Curran, she also leaves to mourn her loss her sister Tita and her husband Nick de Giorgio and their children Jordan and Manuela, her brother Joe and his children Joe and Gianluca, her uncle Judge Maurice Caruana Curran and his wife Ċettina, her cousins Simone Mizzi and Paul Caruana Curran, her aunts Tea and Rossana Albanozzo and their daughters Marcella, Gianna, Marina, Milena, Lilla, Paola and Sandra, as well as her many friends and her treasured dog, Caravaggio. Liana deeply wished to thank her surgeon and his dedicated team for the caring attention given to her during her illness, the doctors at the Pain Management Clinic, all the medical and nursing staff at the ENT ward at Mater Dei Hospital and the medical team at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, as well as Fr Pat Browne for all the moments of comfort he provided throughout her illness. Thank you, Liana, for teaching us all how to celebrate death and to meet it with such great faith, dignity and humour. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow at St Julians parish church at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Puttinu Cares Children's Cancer Support Group and to the Malta Hospice Movement would be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

CHETCUTI. On August 9, ANTHONY, aged 59, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church after a tragic accident. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, Carmen, his daughters Kristina and Nadja and his treasured granddaughter Pippa. He also leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters Alfred and his wife Lucia, Carrie, Helen, Joe and his wife Carmen, Mary and her husband Joe Battistino, his mother-in-law Carmelina Farrugia, his sister-in-law Margaret Cachia and his brother-in-law Eugenio Farrugia and his wife Julia as well as nieces and nephews, relatives and friends and his colleagues at the Customs Department. The funeral will take place tomorrow at Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Ta' l-Erwieħ cemetery, Tarxien. No flowers by request by donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, his favourite charity, will be greatly appreciated.

MUSCAT. On August 9, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, CARMEL, known as Lino, aged 75, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmelina, his children Fr Noel Muscat, OFM, Bernardette and her husband Joe Micallef, Alex and his wife Tania, Leonard and his wife Dorian, Louise and her husband Joseph Buhagiar, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends . The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 8.45 a.m. for St Francis church, Ħamrun, where Mass will be celebrated at 9.15 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. SPITERI. On August 9, INES, aged 100, of Blata l-Bajda, widow of Joseph, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her only daughter Mary, other relatives and friends. New car park in Gżira
