The supply and wholesale value of fresh fruit and vegetables during the second quarter of this year rose by 0.5 per cent and 5.6 per cent respectively.

The National Statistics Office said from the figure of 13.79 million kilograms in the second quarter of last year, the availability of fresh fruit and vegetables rose to 13.85 million kilos in the second quarter this year. Similarly, the wholesale value amounted to €5.96 million, up by 5.6 per cent over the same quarter of 2007.
