Maltese Language Schools federation launched
The Federation of Maltese Language Schools of Australia was launched recently at the Malta's High Commission for Australia in Canberra.
The aim of the federation is to coordinate the work which is being done to strengthen the Maltese language and culture there. The federation's executive committee is headed by Frank Scicluna, president, Edwige Borg, vice-president, Lawrence Dimech, secretary and Alfred Flask, treasurer and public officer.

There are Maltese lessons for foreigners in Malta.
There are 2 classes a week for 32 weeks between October and May.
These are held in selected schools around the island. You can find out more about these courses in the Government website.

And what about Malta? If I am not mistaken, there are lots of foreigners living among you, who, unlike those Australians, could really use the language every day...
Wrong priorities IMHO. All that fuss when several Maltese politicians visit Australia.... What about promoting Maltese in the place where it belongs? Instead of that, newspapers are full of comments ridiculing the new orthography rules, and broadcasting is even fuller of a code-switched mess, especially now when the topic is "il-Logħob Olimpiċi (sic!) fiċ-Ċajna (sic!)
