90 per cent use mobile phones

Subscriptions to all forms of communication technology increased in the first quarter of the year.

The number of mobile telephone subscriptions reached 372,009, which roughly translates into 90.3 per cent of the population.

The rate of internet subscriptions per 100 persons of the population reached 25.

The cable and digital subscriptions index rose by 5.9 per cent to reach 29.6 per 100 persons of the population.

Total postal traffic amounted to around 25.3 million items, the absolute bulk of which was made up of letters and printed items. Courier traffic totalled 63,468 items, of which 51 per cent were letters or documents, and the rest parcels.

I think that the "90% subscriptions", might be a flight of fancy. Has the "mathematician" who created this figure actually considered the many mobile phone users actually have more than one sub. Also consider the remaining 10%. How many of these cannot, or will not subscribe to using a mobile 'phone. No. I think sub rates (persons) flattened out a long time ago as it is now no longer a statement owning ONE of these things, owners no have to have multiple units.

Personally speaking, I hate these things.
