90 per cent use mobile phones
Subscriptions to all forms of communication technology increased in the first quarter of the year.
The number of mobile telephone subscriptions reached 372,009, which roughly translates into 90.3 per cent of the population.
The rate of internet subscriptions per 100 persons of the population reached 25.
The cable and digital subscriptions index rose by 5.9 per cent to reach 29.6 per 100 persons of the population.
Total postal traffic amounted to around 25.3 million items, the absolute bulk of which was made up of letters and printed items. Courier traffic totalled 63,468 items, of which 51 per cent were letters or documents, and the rest parcels.
