Icon sponsors Ability Challenge

Razzett tal-Ħbiberija in Marsascala is holding the Ability Challenge - a week-long event - for the third year running.

This year, France will host a group of 30 participants from tomorrow until August 18. The participants will paraglide, mountain bike and mountain trek among other activities.

The event, inspired by BBC's Beyond Boundaries, aims at creating public awareness on the abilities of individuals with a physical disability. It is also a catalyst for a group of people to work together as a team, regardless of the various levels of physical ability.

Icon, a local software company, has recognised the value of such an event and is co-sponsoring the participation of Cynthia Amato, one of the participants.

"As the training continues, one starts to realise that the real challenge is in team co-ordination, team spirit and the 'go for it' attitude. What Razzett is doing is a very noble cause. When a person has an accident, or is born with a disability, his options can be very limited. Yet, with the right support, a person can have a new perspective," Ms Amato said.
