Record number of applicants for ICT courses at MCAST

A record 1,140 students applied for ICT courses offered at the Malta College for Arts, Sciences and Technology during registration week.

All the applications are currently being reviewed according to eligibility criteria. Applicants for foundation courses must also complete an aptitude test.

The demand for vocational ICT courses at MCAST has been on the rise since 2005.

Following a successful application by MCAST, the programme will be financed by the European Social Fund 2007 - 2013. Using a total investment of €4.2 million in education and training, MCAST and MITTS Ltd will provide full-time ICT tuition for hundreds of students over the next three years.

Next week, a public tender will be issued for private training providers to submit their bids with a view that all the eligible applicants will begin their studies in November or December.
