Overdue fishermen safe

A fishing boat with two fishermen on board was towed to shore yesterday after it was reported missing, the Armed Forces of Malta said.

The AFM said it spent the night searching for the overdue boat following a report by one of the fishermen's neighbours. The neighbour said that the two fishermen left from Marsascala on board a four-metre boat to fish some eight nautical miles offshore.

The army started a surface search, which continued well into the early hours of yesterday morning. Subsequently, the missing boat was found safe after it was spotted by another fisherman in the area.
