Every politican's aim should be the common good.

Does the introduction of divorce in Malta promote the common good? Definitely not. Divorce is a great evil and there is no excuse for it. Divorce puts down the concept of marriage. The children of couples who divorce have a handicap as they are likely to go through a divorce themselves. Couples will enter a marriage thinking that, if it does not long out, they have a door through which to escape.

Joseph Muscat thinks it is "progressive" to vote in favour of divorce. But Moses allowed it. Moses lived long before Jesus Christ and Christ had this to say about it.

'And Pharisees came up and in order to test Him asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" He (Jesus) answered them, "What did Moses command you?" They said, "Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to put her away." But Jesus said to them, "For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this commandment. But from the beginning of creation, 'God made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one.' So they are no longer two but one.'...What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder." (vide Mark 10: 2-12)

So, when the vote for or against divorce takes place in Parliament, let all those MPs of both parties, who believe in Jesus Christ our Saviour and who kissed the cross in the 'swearing in' ceremony, pray before they vote, and then vote wisely because they will be called to give an account of their actions. They are responsible for our future. Some people want divorce. But politicians have the responsibility to decide what is best for our society. We trust these politicians, we voted for them.
