Update: Doujon Zammit's funeral to be held on Tuesday

Doujon Zammit's funeral is to be held on Tuesday at 10.30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories Church at Horsley Park, in Sydney, timesofmalta.com has learnt. The church is run by Maltese priests of the Missionary Society of St Paul.

The Maltese High Commissioner in Australia, Francis Tabone will be attending.

Doujon Zammit, a 20-year-old Maltese-Australian, was last week bashed into a coma on the Greek Island of Mykonos. He lost his battle for life three days later at the "Errikos Dinan" intensive care unit, which is now to be named after him. His organs were donated.

The lifeless body of the young man arrived in Australia this morning. Oliver Zammit, Doujon's father, Cameron Tabone, his 18-year-old cousin who suffered a broken nose and wrist in the attack, and Tabone's father Hugh, together with Oliver's only brother Joe, were on the same flight.

A 25-year-old bouncer, who worked at the Tropicana Club on Paradise Beach, remains in custody after being charged with Doujon's murder. Three bouncers were released on bail, however they are due to appear again before a magistrate on the nearby island of Syros.

Doujon and Tabone were in Malta between July 22 and July 27 after they travelled to Dubai, Rome, Venice, Barcellona and Ibiza. Doujon was to return to Australia to celebrate his mother's birthday on August 4, Doris Pones a distant relative of Doujon told timesofmalta.com.

On Sunday, at Cecil Hills in Sydney’s west, where Doujon played as a child, hundreds of people gathered for a memorial service to farewell him. The memorial service was organised through Facebook on behalf of family and close friends. Another memorial was held on a Mykonos beach. Doujon's friends are pressing the Liverpool Council, of which Cecil Hills is a suburb, to name either Cecil Hills Lake or the park after Doujon.
