Obituary

ABELA. On August 6, at St Vincent De Paul Residence, EMANUELA (Lina) née Formosa, widow of Victor, aged 83, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her five daughters, Monica widow of Louis Gauci, Eleonora and her husband Joe Naudi, Veronica and her husband Raymond Scicluna, Maria and her husband Mario Camilleri, and Gladys and her husband Raymond Bugeja, her sisters Yolanda Madiona and Doris Madiona of Canada, her brothers Albert and Louis Formosa also of Canada and their respective spouses, her beloved grandchildren Erika, Mark, Neil, Nigel, Daniel, Deandra and Alexia, in-laws and their familes, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent De Paul tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Naxxar parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m. followed by interment at Dingli cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

BUTTIGIEG. On August 6, MARIO, aged 52, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josianne, his son Godwin and his fiancée Alexia, his brothers David and Joseph, his sister Margaret and their families, other relatives and colleagues. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at Għajn Dwieli church, Paola, tomorrow at 8 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Żejtun cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

MUSCAT. On August 6, feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 56, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his dear wife Josette, his children Rachel and Mark, his mother Salvina, his sisters Marlene, wife of Charles Falzon, and Victoria, wife of John Soler, his mother-in-law Eleonora Griscti, his in-laws Anna, Antida, Noel, Antoine and their respective spouses, his nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for Attard parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in peace. 'The souls of the just are in the hands of God'.

Prayer meeting

A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at the Mellieħa parish church. The prayer meeting starts at 9.45 p.m. with Mass, followed by adoration until midnight.

Art at Bread Festival

Artists and painters interested in contributing to the Qormi Bread Festival's Visual Art Exhibition should do so by not later than August 15.

Applications are to be handed to the St Sebastian Pastoral Centre at St Edward Street, Qormi or at the parish office during office hours.

St Lawrence Postmark

Citadel Rocks concert

The Citadel will be hosting Citadel Rocks on Friday, in a concert at the main square of Gozo's old fortified city in aid of San Manoel Chaparron Missions in Guatemala, led by Gozitan missionary Fr Anton Grech. The concert will start at 10 p.m. and entrance is free.

Triq Il-Mina l-Kbira and Triq Sir Paul Boffa in Vittoriosa will be closed to traffic this evening, from 6 p.m. Furthermore, Misraħ Ir-Rebħa in Vittoriosa will be closed to traffic today.

Adoration

Solemn adoration of the Blessed Eucharist, benediction and Mass will be held at the Sanctuary of St Paul Shipwrecked, St Paul's Bay, today and every Thursday at 5.30 p.m.
