The Turkish training vessel TCG Sokullku Mehmetpasa recently paid a port visit to Malta, with 460 cadets, officers and crew on board. During the visit Commander Surer paid courtesy visits to local authorities and hosted a luncheon and reception on board the training vessel. He is seen here being presented with the Armed Forces of Malta shield by the Commander of the AFM Brigadier Carmel Vassallo. A memorial service was also held at the Turkish cemetery in Marsa, attended by cadets and officers. The vessel sailed from Malta on July 31 bound for Naples.
