A 24-year-old man was jailed for five months yesterday after admitting to handling stolen property on June 12. Leandross Cutajar of Cospicua admitted to the charge but denied relapsing.

In a separate case, Mark Cauchi, 28, from Paola, was ordered not to leave his house against a personal guarantee of €4,000 after pleading not guilty to stealing a handbag from a car in his hometown at 6.30 a.m. on June 12. The case continues.

Police Inspector Daniel Zammit prosecuted. Lawyer Shazoo Ghaznavi appeared for Mr Cauchi while lawyer Martin Fenech appeared for Mr Cutajar.
