Roman Baths in appalling state

I have enjoyed all my history lessons this year and was looking forward to seeing some Roman sites in Malta for my annual summer holiday. I am afraid to say that I was sorely disappointed when my parents took me to see the Roman Baths.

As we arrived we found the baths in an appalling state, and most of the area was taken up by overgrown weeds. Going around the site on the surrounding road the only thing we could see was a site covered by ugly derelict buildings. As I looked upon this disastrous scene I became more and more horrified and so decided to write this letter.

What I, along with my family, found is wrong on all counts and not at all acceptable. I believe that the authorities should be looking after Malta's fantastic history and not its desecration. Why bother to clearly signpost such a magnificent historical site for people to arrive there and see such horror?

The worst part was a notice saying that this site is closed for conservation measures. Judging by what I saw, no one has set foot in that site for the last few months. Can the authorities sort out this distressing mess? Please.
