Maltese musicians to perform at Zaragoza Expo

The String Ensemble of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing at the EXPO 2008 being held in Zaragoza, Spain at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The String Ensemble, under the direction of Christopher Muscat, will be presenting two concerts today on the occasion of Malta Day.

The concerts will include works by Franz Schubert, Giacomo Puccini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Edvard Grieg and Edward Elgar. The concerts will feature a particular emphasis on works by Maltese composers Carmelo Pace, Joseph Vella, Charles Camilleri and Paolino Vassallo.
