Hotel staff raise money for African children

About 60 Le Méridien St Julians associates and their families woke up early on a recent Sunday morning to walk, run, jog or cycle six kilometres to collect funds for Unicef.

The Check Out For Children Challenge, organised by the hotel's social committee, resulted in the collection of over €750. People gathered at the hotel at about 8.30 a.m. to participate in the one-hour long marathon.

The challenge is an event that all Starwood properties are encouraged to hold annually to raise funds for children in Africa, a hotel spokesman said.

Starwood properties are also encouraged to have a Check Out for Children Programme and Le Méridien St Julians Hotel and Spa will be launching this programme by the end of the year.
