Christian Saliba enjoyed a successful participation in the European Youth Championships, held in Amiens, France last month.

Competing in the Youth 77kg category, the Maltese weightlifter kept his best snatch when lifting 65 kilogrammes. In the clean and jerk, he surpassed his previous mark of 85kg when hoisting 90kg in his final attempt.

His overall total of 155kg is another national record for Saliba who finished with 196.7 points.

A total of 163 lifters, 98 men and 65 women, from 25 European countries participated in the competition.
