Malta goalkeeper Justin Haber is confident his new team Sheffield United will be in the race for Premiership promotion this season after being impressed with the talent at Bramall Lane since his arrival a week ago.
Haber, who made his debut for the Blades in Friday's 2-2 draw against non-league side Alfreton in a pre-season warm-up, has been handed his chance to shine in the Championship by Sheffield United's manager Kevin Blackwell who interestingly for Haber, used to be a goalkeeper himself.
"I'll have to fight for my games but I will do just that and I hope I'll play a part in getting Sheffield to the Premiership," Haber, who last season played for Haidari FC in Greece, said.
"This is a dream come true for me and I have worked very hard to get where I am. Now I have got to show everyone what I can do.
"I've trained with the players at Sheffield and their standard is very high - playing with them will help me get even better and I can see this team should be in the Premiership as they have been before." Last season, Sheffield United finished ninth in the Championship with 66 points.
Haber, who signed a two-year deal with Sheffield United on Thursday, thanked his representatives for their crucial input in securing the transfer to the Championship side.
"Of course you don't get to Sheffield from Malta without a lot of help and I have to seriously thank a lot of people, especially my management team and Carly Barnes.
"They have done an amazing job for me," the 27-year-old said.
