Frans Pace set a national trap scoring record when hitting a stunning total of 145 from 150 clays last weekend to win the Horace Micallef Ent. trophy at the Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) ranges in Bidnija.

Pace showed off his excellent form from the outset with two consecutive straights.

Going into the barrage, Pace had a total of 123 points (25, 25, 24, 24 and 25) and finished with 145 after chalking up another 22 points in the final round.

Next weekend, the MSSF will organise a skeet selection competition on 125 clays.
