Tip-off leads to arrest of 17-year-old

The police are holding a 17-year-old boy from Żebbuġ, Gozo, after he was allegedly caught in possession of 168 ecstasy pills prepared for trafficking.

Police sources said the teenager was caught with 12 ecstasy pills as he tried to enter La Grotta discotheque in Xlendi on Saturday night. He was arrested and investigations, including a search at his house in Żebbuġ, yielded 156 more pills.

The sources said the teenager does not have a history of drug trafficking with the police.

He is expected to appear before the Gozo court today, charged with ecstasy possession with intent to sell.
