Three arrested for drug trafficking

The police will soon be arraigning three persons following the discovery of heroin and cocaine during an anti trafficking operation at the Żabbar housing estate yesterday.

In a statement the police said investigations led to the identification of a trafficking activity at the estate and soon after they embarked on operations in the morning they arrested two persons - a 31-year-old from Valletta and a 39-year-old from Żejtun.

A 22-year-old, already known to the police, was arrested later. The police said he had been caught selling the drugs and several packets with cocaine and heroine were found in his possession.

Scales and other objects related to trafficking were found at his residence.
