Three people have been arrested after the police found an undisclosed amount of cocaine and heroin in the housing estate in Zabbar.

An operation against drug trafficking commenced earlier this morning, during which suspicious activities were immediately noted. This led to the arrest of two people, a 31-year-old from Valletta and a 39-year-old from Zejtun.

Later on, a 22-year-old man, well-known to the police, was arrested after caught selling drugs. He was found to be in the possession of various packets containing cocaine and heroin which were ready to be sold. Following a raid in his residence, weighing scales and other drug-related items were found.

The three people are being held for further investigations and are expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
