Melita acquires waterpolo match rights

Melita Sports has acquired rights to air a minimum selection of six live water polo matches from the 2008-2009 BoV National Water- polo Championship for the first time in the history of the sport locally.

Melita Sports will broadcast matches through a complex outside broadcasting set-up consisting of seven camera angles.

Sports journalist Sandro Micallef will provide live match commentary and analysis, complete with exclusive poolside comments and interviews with players.

The first game, Sirens vs Sliema, aired yesterday.

"Our efforts to conclude this agreement with the Aquatic Sports Association are bearing fruit as waterpolo fans can now follow a selection of waterpolo games throughout August and September, featuring the best of local waterpolo club matches" said Stephen Wright, Melita's chief operations officer.

Melita's sports offering includes over 350 live Barclays Premier League matches, over 150 live Italian Serie A fixtures, and all 125 UEFA Champions League games.

Customers save €30 when subscribing for 12 months of sports coverage for €198. There is an alternative monthly subscription at €19.
