Canon John Ciarlò, Editor, Leħen is-Sewwa, writes:
It's already almost a month since the Catholic newspaper Leħen is-Sewwa lost a great friend with the death of Harry Zammit from Sliema at the age of 71. He was an avid reader of this Catholic paper and appreciated it so much that he used to encourage his friends and all to read it and subscribe to it.
Harry received his education at St Aloysius College and was always proud of the Christian education and formation he had received at the college. He was a family man and always stood up for family values. He adored his dear wife Rose Marie, his dear children and grandchildren.
Being a good Catholic gentleman in every sense of the word, he had deep religious convictions and did his very best to deepen his faith and his Catholic knowledge by reading Catholic literature and attending religious conferences and talks. He was the leader of a Catholic religious group for men and enjoyed organising regular meetings and spiritual retreats for the members. He was also active in Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, and was a member of the parish choir.
Besides, Harry used to enjoy sports particularly football and boxing and was a great supporter of Sliema Wanderers and Italian football.
His sudden death was a hard blow to all who knew him and admired his friendly character and his deep Christian convictions. We feel confident that a month ago Harry went to meet the Lord whom he always tried his very best to love and please and in whom he always placed his full trust in His mercy and love.
