Coventry chief to speak to Mifsud's representatives

Michael Mifsud's prospective move to Bristol City has fallen through after the striker failed to agree personal terms, reports in England claimed yesterday.

Coventry had agreed a fee, believed to be in the region of £1.5 million, with the Robins last week for the Maltese international but late on Tuesday, Bristol City manager Gary Johnson revealed that negotiations with Mifsud and his representatives had been called off and that he would not be joining the club.

Coventry City chairman Ray Ranson said: "We had obviously agreed a fee with Bristol City which was acceptable to both parties and Michael looked set to sign for them.

"That has broken down and I now intend to speak to Michael's representatives to find out what exactly happened before I comment any further."

Mifsud was unavailable for comment yesterday.
