Three students studying English in Malta were yesterday conditionally discharged for six months after admitting to possessing cannabis.

The students, two from the Czech Republic and one from Russia, pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them. The Czech students left Malta yesterday after their language school took disciplinary proceedings against them and sent them back home on the first plane.

The Russian will be leaving Malta soon after Magistrate Silvio Meli ordered his deportation.

The Czechs, a 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, and the 20-year-old Russian were caught in possession of cannabis on Monday night.

Police Inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted.

Lawyer Arthur Azzopardi appeared for the Czechs.

Lawyer Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for the Russian.
