Second Simshar funeral held
The fishing village of Marsaxlokk this morning said its final farewell to Karmenu Bugeja, 61, a fisherman all his life, who died in the Simshar tragedy.
Hundreds turned up for the funeral Mass, with the congregation being led by Mrs Bugeja, Acting President George Hyzler and Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.
Those present also included Stephania Carabott, who bravely turned up hours after attending the funeral of her husband Noel in the same church yesterday.
Fr Godfrey Zarb OFM led the Mass.
Meanwhile Karmenu Bugeja's son Simon, the sole survivor of the Simshar, remains at Mater Dei Hospital, while young Theo, Simon's son, is still missing.

Such a huge tragedy and loss of beautiful lives in such a short time. There are no more words to be said, not enough tears to be shred. To see all of you in mourning is just heartbreaking, even the village itself looks like someone that's lost someone so dear, and that's who these fishermen were.
Our hearts go out to you all, keeping you all in our prayers.

May he rest in peace and may God comfort all his family and friends. Deepest sympathy.
