Richard Cottell has been appointed head of commercial banking at HSBC Bank Malta succeeding James Dunbar Cousin.

Mr Cottell's experience in commercial banking and the HSBC Group spans 26 years. He has undertaken front-line and support roles dealing with small to large international corporate customers based in the UK. He has also worked in Hong Kong in credit risk management.

For the past two years, he was senior manager at the HSBC Group head office, looking after larger corporates in the UK.

Mr Dunbar Cousin will continue to work closely with the new head of commercial banking and the CEO, on major corporate relationships.

Michel Cordina has been appointed deputy head of commercial banking with effect from August 11.
