MFSA Newsletter - Dubai MoU
The MoU was signed on July 7 at the MFSA's premises by the chairman, Joe V. Bannister, and by the DFSA's chief executive, David Knott.
The signing of this MoU also provided an excellent opportunity for officials from the two authorities to meet and further strengthen their regulatory relationship. The MoU binds the MFSA and the DFSA to information sharing and cooperation in the supervision of financial institutions and the conduct of enforcement investigations.
The DFSA is the independent financial services and market regulator of the Dubai International Financial Centre and is responsible for the authorisation, registration, recognition and supervision of financial service providers, financial services and products related to banking, securities, Islamic finance, collective investment schemes, asset management, trust services, insurance and re-insurance.
