Latest addition to MSC Crociera fleet

MSC Splendida, the newest state-of-the-art addition to the MSC Crociere fleet, which floated out of the Aler Yards in St Nazaire, France last week, will make its first visit to Malta in a year's time, just three days after her christening ceremony in Barcelona. The cruise liner is expected to sail into Grand Harbour for the first time on July 15 and will then call every Wednesday for 20 weeks up to the middle of November.

"Travelling on the MSC Splendida, the most beautiful ship in the world, on eight-day cruises, Maltese and Gozitan passengers will be visiting Taormina, Rome, Genova, Portofino, Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence, Barcelona, Tunis and Sidi-Bou-Said," a spokesman for Hamilton Travel, the exclusive general sales agents for the Maltese Islands for MSC Cruises, said.

MSC Splendida and sister ship MSC Fantasia are the two largest ships to be built by a European ship owner.
