Government 'insensitive' towards consumers

The fact that the board responsible for monitoring the price of medicine has not met for over a year confirmed that the government did not care about how the increase in the cost of living was affecting consumers, Silvio Parnis, Labour spokesman for consumer protection, said yesterday. Among the measures promised by the government before the general election was one aimed at ensuring that the price of medicine would continue to be monitored to curb unjustified price hikes, Mr Parnis said.
