Veteran Trap shooter Frans Pace underlined his supremacy in the discipline at the Bidnija ranges yesterday when he won the All Malta Selection trophy, a competition over 125 clays, organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation.

Pace managed scores of 23, 24 and 24, on Saturday, and a double 23 yesterday for a 117/125 score in the competition. He went on to target another 23 clays in the barrage for a remarkable 140/150 overall. The result means an ISSF MQS for Pace.

Result: 1. F. Pace (117+23) 140; 2. L. Galea (116+21) 137; 3. N. Carabott (112+23) 135; 4. N. Attard (113+21) 134; 5. S. Cardona (114+16) 130; 6. J. Pisani (113+13) 126.

Meanwhile, Double Trap shooter William Chetcuti will be leaving the island today on his way to China for next month's Beijing Games.
