Alternattiva Demokratika has nominated architect Carmel Cacopardo, its spokesman on sustainable development and local government, and Stephen Cachia, deputy chairman and spokesman on democratic institutions and civil rights, as member and substitute member respectively on the Malta-EU Steering Action Committee (Meusac).
AD said it was active in Meusac even before Malta's accession to the EU. It was then represented by its former chairman, Harry Vassallo. Since accession, AD has been insisting that EU membership should not be viewed as a partisan issue but as a matter that should be embraced by one and all.
Through its presence in Meusac, AD said it will seek to contribute towards a constructive dialogue about Malta' role in the EU within the parameters of Meusac's agenda.
