If public transport in Gozo were to be stopped due to a strike, no one would have noticed. Life would go on without a hitch, because Gozitans cannot go to work and return home on public transport. One has to use one's car.

To reach the ferry, to take the children to the gym or to private lessons, or to go on a night out, one has to rely on his own means. When public transport operators went on strike, they did not transport the students to the secondary schools in Victoria.

I am glad to hear the Prime Minister say that a leap in quality is to be expected in Malta's public transport. But nothing is said about Gozo, the ecological island. We deserve this public service. It makes sense in every sense.
