Paola Pageant Group

Paola Pageant Group was one of the most popular groups which staged one of the first spectacular pageants in Malta. Many people, including tourists, used to come to Paola to watch this enlivened true life drama of Jesus Christ.

This event was much awaited, not only by parishioners but by people from all over the island. The group consisted of young people who researched the bible and remained faithful to the Gospel throughout the performance, always under the supervision of Fr Vincent Deguara, known to us as Id-Dun or Dun Viċens. In 2010, Paola parish's centenary, a series of events are planned, many of which will involve groups which were, or still are, active in this town.

One is a get-together for all the former members of the Paola Pageant Group. Those young people today are parents and even grandparents. Many of them do not have the same address. Sadly, some are no longer with us.
