Lace teacher at world congress

Mary Louise Bajada took part in the International Lace World Congress in Oosterpoort, Groningen, The Netherlands.

Ms Bajada, who teaches lace-making and embroidery at the Gozo Adult Education Centre, participated in the general assembly and various lectures, and visited bobbin and needle lace exhibitions by various suppliers.

The theme of the exhibition was 'Bags'; 20 countries, including Malta, set up stands to demonstrate a range of lace-making techniques. Some 230 entries were submitted, four of which were by Ms Bajada.

Ms Bajada trip was sponsored by the EU Lifelong Learning Programme - Grundtvig.
