Are you about to choose a mobile phone service operator? Before signing a service contract always read the terms and conditions - especially the small print. These state what your rights and obligations are. If there is anything you do not understand ask the trader to explain before signing.
With the liberalisation of the telecoms market, what choice do I have for mobile phone services?
Recently a licence was granted to a third mobile operator so customers will soon be able to choose between three mobile service providers. Compare prices for the services you use most and check out the network coverage provided by all three operators.
What can I do if another operator offers better conditions?
You have access to fairly easy and quick procedures if you want to change operators and you are entitled to keep your 'old' phone number.
Before switching operators check your contractual obligations. If you are changing your mobile operator, check whether you need to upgrade your handset.
What do I need to know when using my mobile phone abroad?
Whenever you make or receive a mobile phone call while abroad, you will be making use of the roaming service and you will need to pay both for making and for receiving calls. As from September last year, maximum prices for roaming charges have been set. Check with your mobile operator that you are being offered charges that do not exceed these prices.
