Xlendi Bay markers

I just returned from a glorious week at Xlendi Bay. I spent a lot of time in the sea early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

I should like to draw the attention of the Malta Maritime Authority, which, I understand, is responsible for the steel cable holding the red and yellow markers that divide the swimming area from the boats, that the cable needs to be replaced urgently.

This cable consists of a number of thin steel wires twisted together. Many of these steel wires are cut in different parts and are dangerous to swimmers.

Last Sunday, a young Gozitan who works at Mater Dei Hospital was cut by one of these rusted wires.

While at it, the MMA can also clean the red and yellow markers from the algae.
